I’m going to make this blog post pretty quick, mostly because these two cities were ones I enjoyed but was not necessarily in love with.
After I left Paris I took a train to Brussels, which is REALLY beautiful but also very small. I spent a lot of time talking to Jehovah’s Witness’ (they are a religious sect that fascinate me, but more on this maybe later). Then I mostly walked around and went sight-seeing. Brussels definitely has some of the most delicious Baklava I have ever had, but… I have to say… I think Belgian chocolate is a scam. I was not too impressed by it.
I went to one party store and found a mask of President Trump. I tried to resist… I really did. But eventually bought it and ended up taking silly pictures with it around Brussels. The most humorous part was wearing it on the train to frighten the train conductor. He had a fabulous sense of humor, for which I am grateful.
Afterwards I got on a train and went to Amsterdam to meet my cousin who was also visiting there. This was really special because my solo journey had finally met some human interaction (from someone who knew me longer then a short time). I hope to write on this more later. But, Amsterdam was really fun. Also a HUGE bike city, (but I still loved Copenhagen more). I think I mostly enjoyed it because I was with my cousin. We ate good food, had great laughs, a little too much alcohol. (I may have booked one too many flights back to London from being so drunk)… but we managed to live!
Totally recommend the two cities (but you may not need too much time in Brussels… I enjoyed it as a “pass through” city.
